What changed in Korea

New rules, prices and services that affect visitors, newest first. Each one links to its source.

  1. Seoul's 30-day Climate Card ended

    The last 30-day top-up was August 31, 2026. The 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7-day tourist passes are still sold.

  2. iPhone users can put T-money in Apple Wallet

The Tmoney app added a login for foreigners. Top up with Mastercard, Amex or UnionPay, then tap your phone at the gates.

  3. Foreign cards work at 440 Seoul subway ticket machines

Visa and Mastercard now buy single tickets and Climate Card passes at new machines on Lines 1 to 8. They still can't top up T-money.

  4. K-ETA waiver extended through December 31, 2026

Citizens of 22 countries can still enter without a K-ETA until the end of 2026. Check before you book a 2027 trip.
